Colac Motorcycle Club is the heart of motocross and off-road racing in the region, bringing together riders of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're a weekend warrior or chasing the podium, our club offers a top-tier track, exciting events, and a supportive riding community. We host regular race meets, coaching days, and social rides to keep the adrenaline flowing. Want to start racing?
The joining process for attaining an MA licence can be found below. Your journey will start by contacting your local State Controlling Body (SCB).
JUNIOR NATIONAL LICENCE (7-U16 YEARS)
STEP 1: JOIN A CLUB & COMPLETE KICKSTART
– Join the Kick Start Program
Then continue to complete the kickstart program with a MA accredited Coach under a MA permit which can be obtained at your SCB
STEP 2: GET A LICENCE
– Kick Start Program paperwork
– Ambulance Membership
– SCB submission of documentation and approval
STEP 3: PROGRESS
– Key competencies achieved in coaching must be signed off in a log book by the coach.
– Log books are approved by your SCBand a new card will be issued with the new endorsement on it.
– Endorsements outline the maximum capacity bike that a Junior is eligible to ride in competition
SENIOR NATIONAL LICENCE (16 YEARS AND ABOVE)
STEP 1: JOIN A CLUB & COMPLETE KICKSTART
– Join a motorcycle club in your local area
– Obtain either a road bike licence or a copy of a ‘MA approved day licence’ or a completed copy of a Rider Competency assessment (found on SCBwebsite)
STEP 2: GET A LICENCE
– Proof of age and Formal Identification
– Proof of club membership
– Ambulance Membership
– Proof of rider competency
– SCB submission of documentation and approval
STEP 3: PROGRESS
A rider’s age on the 1st of January will determine their age for competition purposes in that particular year. This licence allows you to participate in all state-wide and nation-wide events that are permitted by MA.
